The sleek black fur rippled in the wind even as he inclined his huge head to peer up at the sun. His triangular ears were upright, searching, even as he sensed nothing. He no longer needed his corporal senses, yet he held to them, as he held to all the old ways, and things past.
He felt the flowers bloom beneath his feet, the colors vivid and wild, a carpet of a lighter green that spread from his feet onward into the meadow. He felt all around him, life and earth in a single and endless dance. One insect died as another fed, and a cukoo chick pushes his sisters from the nest to their deaths. It was life.
Blindly and terribly he stood, a great living monument of rugged, iridescent obsidian fur and hematite claws. A monsterous beast who stood in defiance of death and life, even as he kept their balance. The only portion of his body that seemed alive were his eyes, one a brilliant, fiery golden yellow, and the other dark as a pool of blood drying on the sand.

Wow, that came out more dramatic than I had thought...
Here is Hunter, or Cain, in some of his base clothing and jewelry. I drew it in pen, and I am usually a very sketchy artist, so I had a hard time getting all of it, or even gettin him to look right, but I think I managed. Damn and whew to no planning, no second drafts, and no sketching or pencil. I didn't even try to do all of his jewelry or markings, and the pictures on his pants kinda suck, but hey, I tried...(He kind of looks like Splinter from Ninja turtles)... But yes, King of wolves and a Ma'at, or the highest rank of Greater Nature spirit who creates and destroys life at will and who keeps balance in the universe between life and death. Not bad for my little wolfie boy. Heh, this is basically what he wears now... kinda kinky ain't it, Ephen? ... Yes, he has 2 tails.
Thank you, I loved making the fur. It is a lot of fun. Working with pen for me is fast, difficult and dangerous, but it is a great challenge. I love challenges. Thank you for commenting.
This is so cool...AH! It's awesome! The pose is so beautiful, and the way that you drew the fur is so complicated and makes it dark and mysterious. The hair falls nicely on your Wolf King. You did that quite well.
The Wolf King's face is so deep and menacing. The details are so fine on everything in this drawing! I really like the position of the hand holding the spear, too. The top one, I mean. that's really cool.
I think that the only thing that I can possibly say bad about this is the bottom hand. Something's awkward about it. The extended claw things need to be raised a little, I think. Great job, friend.

You're rockin' the pen techniques man.
It is detailed and has a dark style, like the german woodcuts that I discussed with you. Firm and yet free enough to express tiny movement.
Good ol' Hunter is looking firm and aggressive, yet almost stoic in his own way. Bravo.

Danka. I liked drawing it. He looks very evilly indeed. I rather enjoyed making it, and it does verymuch remind me of a woodcut. I think it is funny he looks like an indio, but perhaps it is only me... I tightened up the closeness of the fur, and tried to make a difference between long and short fur.
I love the inking... Thank you for the comment, it is greatly appreciated. I loved drawing the body and the breastplate. It was tedious, but great fun.
They are not claws really, his hand is closed around the spear. Those are claws coming out of the bracer. i was proud of the fact I didn't use a pencil guide. Yay me. I loved drawin hte face. Thank you for your complements to the fur and prose.
